Jonathan Palmer

CEO, FOUNDER

I am the owner of PowerMan, a proudly South African, family-owned business with over 40 years of experience in the UPS and backup power industry.

With extensive experience in the industry, I have dedicated my career to building PowerMan into a trusted and respected name in power protection and backup power solutions. My focus has always been on delivering quality products, exceptional service and building long-term relationships with our customers and business partners.

As a family business, I am passionate about ensuring PowerMan’s continued growth and long-term success. A key part of my vision is developing the next generation of leadership, passing on industry knowledge and experience, and ensuring the company continues to thrive for generations to come.

Brandon Palmer

SALES MANAGER

I am the Sales Manager at PowerMan, a family-owned South African business with over 40 years of experience in the UPS and backup power industry. My background in sales and rugby, both as a player and senior coach, has helped develop my leadership skills, teamwork and competitive mindset.

At PowerMan, I oversee sales operations, manage key client relationships, develop new business opportunities and drive the company’s growth and expansion. As part of the next generation in the family business, I am actively involved in the company’s long-term succession and progression plan, with the goal of taking on greater leadership responsibilities and helping drive PowerMan’s continued growth and success.

ADMIN MANAGER

I joined PowerMan UPS in February 2018 as an Administration Intern, beginning a journey that transformed me from a shy, reserved young man into the confident leader I am today. I often say I went from being a little pug to becoming tenacious like a pitbull! This reflects the resilience and determination I have developed along the way.

Receiving the Managing Director’s MVP of the Year Award for 2026 is one of my proudest achievements.I believe exceptional customer service is about building trust, showing genuine care, and making every customer feel valued.

I am grateful to PowerMan UPS for believing in my potential and giving me the opportunity to grow. Sometimes, all you need is an opportunity and someone who believes in you.

Bonolo Ramotsamai

PRODUCTION MANAGER

Bonolo Ramotsamai joined PowerMan four years ago as an intern. Demonstrating commitment and strong technical growth, he was promoted to Junior Field Technician after six months, and subsequently to Production Manager.

Driven by a passion for helping and developing others, Bonolo has embraced PowerMan’s culture of continuous growth. Having benefited from extensive training and mentorship himself, he now takes pride in mentoring and training colleagues across all levels of the organization, as well as clients.

Over the years, he has built strong relationships with clients and suppliers both locally and internationally, and is proud to be trusted by the company in every aspect of the business.

Mark Holdsworth

ELECTRICAL & SOLAR MANAGER

Born in 1963 in Leeds, England.

My parents moved to South Africa in 1965.

I attended primary school at Kempton Park Primary until standard three when we moved north to Rhodesia. I completed high school at Churchill Boys in Salisbury in 1979. Moved back down south to complete my apprenticeship with then GEC.

I qualified as an electrician in 1986 and wrote and passed my wireman’s licence in 2002. After working for Rotek (Eskom) I contracted for a few years before joining Powerman in 2008.

Some of the biggest installs I have been involved in are the 400Kva for Kalafong Hospital, the 300Kva in a container for Kromberg and Schubert in Botswana and the 200Kw solar system for Little Eden in Bapsfontein.

My current position at Powerman is HOD for the electrical department
